The Summer Sessions: Part Three

Summer Fridays and favorite things

Corinne’s Five Faves

  1. Listening to Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with Carsyn last night the second the album dropped while Apple Music kept crashing mid-song because all of us everywhere were there listening at the same time. I love that about us. Our top priority was the re-write on Better Than Revenge because when we know better we do better - even Taylor. Also, you know I’m loving anything with “matches”. Carsyn and I agreed hands-down, our top track is definitely Castles Crumbling. 10/10. No notes.

  1. The Bear (season 2) - the filming, the editing, the quick shots, the lighting, the city as a character, the character development, Richieeeeeee, the brilliant cameos, the way they give you just enough but not too much - every scene like fine cuisine. YES CHEF!

  2. THREADS. Loving that so far it feels very NOT high-stakes. Not loving how apparently I sent a zillion follow requests without realizing it. What’s the algorithm here? How is my feed being determined? I need my GenZ kids to explain to me how this works. Oh wait, they don’t care.

  3. Taryn Delanie’s “Denise” Reels on the Gram. (@taryndelaniesmith ) Hilarious. Heartwarming. Love.

  1. S L O W B U R N - We’ve been working so hard to get our final edits turned in by our deadline of today. So many long days. So many details. So much good feedback. And so tired. Our brains never turn off. AND, there is nothing we would rather be doing than getting her the most ready for you come Spring. Cannot wait to share more soon!

Sarah’s Five Faves

  1. Threads. Okay, not sure what this app will end up being, but in these early days, it feels full of possibility, like we’re all at a sleepover, staying up past midnight in our jammies playing Would You Rather. See you there?

  2. Today we’re turning in our fully-edited manuscript to our publisher! It feels incredible and vulnerable and so very exciting. Here’s to women believing beauty can be made from pain, women learning to trust the sound of their own voice, and women who leave their ego at the door and celebrate our expansion. Slow Burn is coming! We’ll share more details, the cover reveal, and pre-order links soon!

  3. Art by Kati Ramer. I’ve always loved her desert landscapes and have one hanging in my home as we speak. A bit of Arizona I can take with me anywhere.

  4. This lip gloss. (I use Air Kiss in the summer bc it’s light and perfect for a bit of shine, and Black Honey all fall and winter for some low-key drama)

  1. SPEAK NOW (Taylor’s version obvi)
